I only work from photographs , those animals just won't keep still! Choose a favourite one or a selection which you feel captures the animal best. Do they have an expression that’s ‘them’. It must be close enough to show the eyes clearly (shaggy fringes allowing). Indicate which photo best represents the colour of the coat. It's best to take the photograph outside (especially if it's a cow!) and remember to get a good close up, not the house or garden!
Costs will depend upon the size of canvas and the time/complexity of the portrait. Smaller is not necessarily cheaper - more detail on a smaller canvas is more time! More than one subject? Add 50% to prices quoted for a second on the same canvas. For a third in the picture add a total of 75% of the original price. If the portrait is for a specific date ie. birthday or Christmas, please let me know.
A 50% deposit is payable before painting starts to secure the six week timeframe in the painting schedule. I'll email a digital photo of the finished commission to make sure you are completely happy with the portrait. The balance is then payable before the painting is shipped.
Postage is not included in the price of a commissioned work; collection can be arranged.
I understand how personal art is, and that the joy of owning a piece is made extra special with the addition of a personal touch. This is why I welcome animal oil painting, resin painting or oil sketch commissions and I look forward to hearing your ideas and bringing them to life with my art!
Commissions could be an original oil of your cow or pet (this might be the same thing!) on canvas or canvas board. An artwork already listed on my website could also be embellished and resined for you. Resin work is on canvas board which can be temporarily hung straightaway or I can supply beautiful frames - contact me to discuss.
Pure resin artworks are joyous! Do you have a specific colour or emotion you want to convey. A large resin artwork in a prominent location in your home immediately conveys your style and sets the mood. Resin Mixology - Zen for your Eyeballs!
