I've been painting for 20 yrs and am still excited and inspired by the wonderful animals that we're lucky to have in our lives; their humour, trust & friendship is an absolute delight and I'm privileged to paint them. I specialise in British wildlife, farm animals, & our wonderful pets & paint for both galleries/undertake commissions.
I want you to be able to see your painting every day and for it to make you smile - an informal, composed painting that contains both a realistic likeness and a uniquely distinctive interpretation - something that will give you the 'fuzzies'!
Two artworks were featured in 'Best House in Town' on BBC One. Original oils and giclée prints have been exhibited in the UK, Australia, USA and Europe; offices, restaurants and cruise ships. I was awarded First Place in the DeMontfort New Artist competition in 2006, chosen by Art Retailers at the NEC Birmingham. Work has been licensed worldwide.
l use oil on canvas to produce an original and unique painting. We could stop there or I could layer with clear resin which makes the colours pop even more. The animal could be embellished with resin colour to highlight movement, hair or to create atmosphere. Pressed flowers result in a unique 3D effect or text can be added before a final layer of resin is applied. This gives the painting a wonderful depth and in some instances, the addition of gold or silver adds an ethereal quality. Don't be worried by the choices, we can discuss!
If you didn't want to commission a painting I can resin and/or hand embellish an original oil which I have listed for sale making it totally unique. There would be an extra charge for this.
I'm also excited to have been painting oil sketches on linen, they're a fluid and fun original on linen board.
The majority of my work is sold unframed but I can frame for you from a selection of professionally supplied frames (UK only). Should the frame of your choice be sold out, order time will be approximately 2/3 weeks. If you can't wait to hang it on your wall I can attach a ring to the back to hang immediately until you can frame yourself.
